With so many awards handed out in quick succession each year, you are forgiven for possibly not knowing about The Dorian Awards and GALECA Society, comprised of LGBTQ+ entertainment journalists (including our editor-in-chief Mark Peikert). Now in its 12th year, the 2021 ceremony went virtual (natch), and saw some big names accepting awards, including Laverne Cox—whose documentary, Disclosure, tied for two awards with Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s documentary, Welcome to Chechnya—and an all-star roster of famous faces paying tribute to Emmy winner Leslie Jordan, who took home the Timeless Star award.
The ceremony streamed on LGBTQ+ streaming platform Revry.com, which you have also probably never heard of and which declined to be profiled on The Gay Goods. Google it, if you’re interested (thought we doubt you will be).
