Italian game publisher Santa Ragione, publishers of the acclaimed gay surrealist horror visual novels “Mediterranea Inferno” and “Milky Way Prince – The Vampire Star,” have announced their presence at the Game Developers Conference 2024 . Also, they aren’t coming in empty handed: they’ re set to unveil two new unannounced games at the event, and given their track record, the only real expectations one can have is a violent, exciting, and uniquely queer story.

Mediterranea Inferno—which was very close to our game of the year in 2023—is a horror visual novel and gay video game that delves into the experiences of three young gay men attempting to reclaim their lost youth post-Covid lock down in Europe. During its events, it presents a surrealistic exploration of the pandemic’s impact on their lives, intertwining anxieties and desires through psychosomatic “Mirages” that reveal their innermost struggles.
