For those of us who can still watch Heartstopper (which doesn’t include me because I’m not sure I’m emotionally ready yet,) get prepared for things to get a bit steamy.
So, in the official announcement for the third season of the heartwarming teen-romance, Kit Harrington reveals that things are “about to get a bit more steamy” for Nick (Kit Harrington) and Charlie (Joe Locke.)
“While Heartstopper will always celebrate the joyful and point towards hope, I’m really excited that we are allowing the tone of the show to mature alongside our beloved characters growing up,” said Alice Oseman the original creator of the graphic novel series the show is based on.
“Mental health, sex, university ambitions, and more: Nick, Charlie, and the Heartstopper teens are getting older, learning more about themselves and each other, and experiencing new desires, new fears, and new joys as they approach adulthood.”
For those who’ve read the comics are probably already aware of what Nick and Charlie get up to, but no spoilers for the rest of us, please!

Missing Mom
However, in a bit of sad news, Oscar-winning actress Olivia Colman, who played Nick’s mom, is unable to join the cast of season 3 due to scheduling.
“I couldn’t fit it in, and I feel awful about it,” she told Jeff Conway of Forbes. “I feel like I was part of one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever done”.
Oseman reassured fans that they would not recast Colman’s character this season. So, commenting on Colman’s absence:
“We tried absolutely everything we could, but it wasn’t meant to be. And that’s just the way the TV world works sometimes,” she said on an Instagram story.
Heartstopper Season 3 will be premiering this October on Netflix.
