The site that helped popularize jerking off to amateur content is set to shoot its final load.
XTube, the tube site that featured both studio content and uploads from horny users, announced that it will be shutting down September 5. All content will be removed on that date.
“We’re proud of the vibrant community we’ve built since 2008 and we’re grateful to you, our amazing users who have shared and purchased content on our platform over the years. Unfortunately, it’s time for us to move on to greener pastures and greater things,” the company said in a message to users that was shared widely on social media. A sister site to Men.com and Porn Hub, XTube’s claim to fame remains its position as the first adult tube site and its initial slogan: “Log on and get off.” The site has already disabled users’ ability to purchase credits. July will be the final billing month for VIP and XTube Premium users, will subscriptions will be automatically canceled beginning in August.
Is this a one off for tube sites or a harbinger of more to come? With the rise of fan platforms and the necessity of providing age verification, we think there might be more ends in sight to amateur-heavy sites.
