Cardi B called out white twinks on Twitter for stirring up shit, and white twinks of Twitter responded by stirring up shit.
White twinks on this app are weird .You don’t dictate people’s action.

After immediately getting chastised for using “twinks” as a straight woman, Cardi B doubled down.
I said what I said and I’m not taking it back!!! Ya love to hide behind black female artist pictures on your avi and be the ones saying the most disrespectful shit about women & dictating their moves and start wars between female artist fans ALWAYS!

Her replies were divided almost evenly between people agreeing that young, gay stans have had long, complicated relationships with female performers and in particular BIPOC female performers, and those who have grown up in so much privilege that they equate Cardi B using twink to someone using faggot.
Cardi you shouldn’t use the word twink like that. It’s becoming another gay slur against all gay men. Not just white ones. White men white gay men sure whatever but don’t say twink pls. Love u sm just want to let u know ❤️

They are not the same!
Pointing out that a very specific fan base is disrespectful is not homophobic. Using the word “twink” is not hate speech. We are living in an upside down world that is capable of raging equally against Cardi B calling white twinks problematic and against the murders of trans women of color. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before social justice warriors are shaming that toilet paper company for making bears seem like they can’t even wipe their own ass.
Until we relearn the importance of the benefit of the doubt, of intention, and of nuance, we have no business attacking anyone. Unless someone talks shit about the new Gossip Girl. They deserve our rage.
