So now it’s OK to say that being Gay or Trans is a ‘Mental Illness’? (Wtf Zuck)

Meta, the company behind Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, has made big changes to its content moderation policies, and it’s not okay!

These updates include ending fact-checking partnerships and loosening rules around topics like immigration, gender identity, and sexual orientation.

One change that’s causing outrage is a new rule that allows users to call gay and transgender people mentally ill if it’s based on political or religious beliefs.

OBVIOUSLY this opens the door to harmful speech and puts LGBTQ+ people at risk.

Meta also removed language in its guidelines that tied hateful speech to real-world violence, which has raised even more concerns. While some old restrictions remain, these changes clearly make the platform less safe for vulnerable groups like our community.

Meta says the goal is to allow more open discussions, but in my opinion, as a gay man, it’s a dangerous step backward!

What do you think?

Do these changes promote free speech or risk harm? I’d love to read your thoughts.
